Clean the Bay, in partnership with Clean Up Sound and Harbor and Save The Bay, will hold a press conference at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Mystic River Park on Cottrell Street to announce NOAA funding for marine debris removal in Connecticut.
Clean the Bay is a non-profit agency based in Rhode Island. Its mission is to “ensure that our coastal waterways and shorelines are clear of large marine debris.” Clean Up Sound and Harbor is a non-profit group based in southern Connecticut “with a mission to clean up and protect Fishers Island Sound and its coves, inlets, bays, rivers and harbors.”
Speakers at the press conference will include representatives from Clean The Bay, NOAA, Clean Up Sound and Harbor, Save The Bay, the Connecticut Marine Trades Association, the Rhode Island Marine Trades Association and the town of Stonington.
