Visitors will have the opportunity to come aboard and tour Wild Goose, a 136-foot yacht once owned by John Wayne, as part of the 31st annual Lido Yacht Expo in Newport Beach, according to a story on Newswire Today.
John Wayne films will be shown aboard the wooden vessel, which was commissioned as a Navy minesweeper until 3 pm., each day of the show.
In 1965, Wayne bought the vessel for $116,000 and turned it into his own private cruising yacht. Modifications include a master stateroom, children’s stateroom, wet bar, poker table and a raised overhead to accommodate Wayne’s 6-foot, 4-inches, according to the story.
The show will take place Sept. 24-27 at Lido Marina Village, in Newport Beach, Calif.
