The Wave e-550, the first model from the new Spanish-Italian builder Magonis, made its world debut in May at the Venice Boat Show 2021.

The company is headquartered in Barcelona, Spain, while production of the new 19-foot electric outboard-powered boat takes place in Sabaudia, Italy. The European market is quickly embracing electric power, especially since certain scenic places, like Lake Garda, have route restrictions for traditional motorboats. Others, like Venice, are trying to reduce noise and pollution in urban areas.

The Wave e-550 draws 1 foot, has a top speed of 22 knots with the largest power option, and has a range of 12 hours at cruising speed. It can be outfitted with a Torqeedo Cruise of 4 or 10 kW (about 20 horsepower), or the new Mag Power 18- or 30-kW (about 40-horsepower).

The bow area can be transformed from a dinette into a sunbed. The cockpit can accommodate up to six passengers. Optional equipment includes telescopic table, full teak deck, refrigerator, shower, and an 86-square-foot awning supported by carbon uprights.

The instrumentation comes in a waterproofed 13-inch iPad that owners can take with them. There is also a dedicated slot for charging smartphones, and music is delivered by a Fusion system.
