Deep-sea fishing can be dangerous, whether it be from the unforgiving sea, mechanical failure, or unintended close-calls with large marine life, as a charter crew recently found out off the coast of Australia.

Three anglers trying to bring a massive marlin onto the boat when out of nowhere, the fish jumps toward one of the men.

He narrowly misses being impaled by the marlin’s spear-like bill by turning at the last second.

The fish nearly clears the deck and flops around for a moment before hurling itself back into the water.

Amazingly, none of the men were injured.

See for yourself on the video they posted.
