The story of the container ship Rena that ran aground Oct. 5 on New Zealand’s Astrolabe Reef is far removed from the headlines in the U.S., but it remains a daily story in the South Pacific.
Container removal from the stricken ship Rena off the coast of Tauranga is proceeding well, but the operation continues to be dependent on the weather, according to Maritime New Zealand.
A total of 165 containers have been removed so far.
