When a real estate broker in West Dennis, Mass., stumbled upon a muddy plastic bottle nestled in a salt marsh, he first assumed it was trash.
But after taking a closer look, he realized it was something special.
“I noticed some clear and turquoise stones inside the bottle with a rolled up paper,” Tom O’Hearn told the Cape Cod Times. “I thought, ‘Wow, a message in a bottle!'”
The message he found was written by 7-year-old Savannah Bradley of Bristol, N.H., and made its way to Cape Cod all the way from the Granite State — first by car, then boat and eventually by ocean currents.
