Rinker 420 Express Cruiser

The two-stateroom 420 Express Cruiser is the biggest boat in the Syracuse, Ind., builder’s lineup, and a pair of 425-hp sterndrives give it a top end of 44 mph.

The boat’s standard features include a radar arch with spreader lights and speakers, Raymarine radar/chart plotter, VHF radio, Mercury’s Digital Throttle and Shift, an electric anchor windlass, satellite radio, three flat-screen televisions, central vacuum system, and a La-Z-Boy recliner in the saloon. It has an extended swim platform, walkthrough transom, and cushioned transom rumble seating, as well as a U-shaped lounge in the cockpit. Also topside are a day galley with sink, trash compactor, icemaker, refrigerator/freezer and propane gas grill.

Accessed through a sliding companionway door, the saloon contains the La-Z-Boy, a convertible settee, dinette table, and galley equipped with a three-burner stove with oven, microwave/coffeemaker and refrigerator/freezer. The forward stateroom has a V-berth and a pair of hanging lockers, while the midcabin has a privacy door, vanity sink and single hanging locker. The televisions are in the saloon and in each stateroom.

Options include a bow thruster, hardtop, teak package and dinghy package that includes an 8-foot, 9-inch Mercury RIB, 4-stroke outboard, and all mounting and storage hardware.

Silverton 33 Convertible

The Silverton 33 Convertible is the new entry-level boat from the Millville, N.J., boatbuilder. The two-stateroom 33-footer is designed to be more livable than an express cruiser, at a price less than $200,000, according to Silverton.

The saloon, on the main deck, has a convertible settee with storage beneath to starboard, next to the galley. The galley comes equipped with a microwave, single-burner electric stove, sink, Corian countertop and under-counter refrigerator and freezer. To port is an L-shaped settee and dinette table.

Below deck are a forward master stateroom, portside guest stateroom with double berth and standing headroom, and a head and shower compartment to starboard. The master stateroom includes a full-size berth with storage drawers and a cedar-lined hanging locker.

Southport 28 Tournament Edition

Southport Boat Works of Leland, N.C., has introduced a version of its 28-foot center console designed to meet the needs of serious offshore anglers. The Southport 28 Tournament Edition has such features as a tackle center, 40 rod holders, and more than 800 quarts of insulated storage.

The lids open to reveal, from starboard to port, a 45-gallon lighted live well, insulated bait box, and a fresh- and raw-water sink with a pullout shower. Each lid is gasketed and has a magnet to hold it open. Above the work surfaces, all of which drain to the sink, are four rod holders and storage for such items as a knife, pliers, rigging needle and ice pick holder. In addition to the tackle center, the boat has a transom bait box, 38-gallon cockpit fishbox with macerator, stand-up head in the center console, and a 157-gallon forward console fishbox.

Ebbtide 2460 Z-Trak Dual Console

Ebbtide Boats has introduced a new hull design that incorporates the vented Z-Trak hull, which the builder says reduces drag and allows the boat to plane more quickly, improves maneuverability and control, and enhances overall performance.

The boat has bow and stern swim platforms with stainless steel telescoping ladders, stainless steel hardware that includes a standard ski tow rail, and a curved windshield with stainless steel braces. A colored gelcoat hull band or accent stripe is standard, as is a color-matched Bimini top.

The 2460 is laid out with watersports and entertaining in mind, with a convenience center with a sink and a removable 48-quart cooler, cockpit table, in-sole ski locker with gas shock lid, and stereo system with transom remote. Seating includes a flip-up bucket seat for the driver, cockpit lounge seating, and bow seating with a filler cushion.

Other new models include the 2660 Z-Trak Dual Console, with a base price of $41,470, and the 2640 Z-Trak Bow Rider, with a base price of $40,120. Pricing was unavailable for the 2460 Z-Trak Dual Console.

Sea Fox 216 Dual Console

Sea Fox Boat Co. designed its new 216 Dual Console for families that enjoy fishing and dayboating. It has an eight-person capacity and standard plush seating, along with such fishing features as a 19-gallon aerated live well, 12 rod holders, portside rod storage box, and tackle center with three tackle trays and a cutting board. Standard features include a swim platform and boarding ladder, stereo system, and private head compartment in the port console, with a dome light and portable marine head.

A removable cooler is beneath the back-to-back seats.

The 216DC has non-skid deck surfaces, through-bolted stainless steel rails, stainless steel through-hulls, a self-bailing cockpit, foam-cored hull and deck, and a lifetime limited warranty.
