The Knoxville (Tenn.) Volunteer Rescue Squad received a new boat on Saturday — and it was promptly involved in two rescues over the Memorial Day weekend.
Captain of the rescue squad Mark Jenkins said a $150,000 donation allowed them to buy the boat.
“We purchased a brand new lake assault boat, and today was it’s first maiden voyage and we’re going to try to keep this boat staffed on the water every weekend,” Mark Jenkins, captain of the rescue squad, told WATE 8 News.
