Elvis Francois went missing at sea in December 2022 and spent 24 days adrift before being rescued. The 47-year-old survived on Maggi cubes, garlic powder and a bottle of ketchup.
After his rescue, The Kraft Heinz Company, the manufacturer of Heinz ketchup, shared that they wanted to buy Francois a new boat and began a search for the sailor. They posted on Instagram that they needed help finding him, along with the hashtag #FindTheKetchupBoatGuy.

Francois was found in the Caribbean island of Dominica. A Heinz spokesperson said the company is working on “the best way to help support him and his family.” According to the company, the new boat will be fully equipped with navigational technology.
Francois was found at sea, 120 nautical miles northwest of Puerto Bolívar, Ecuador. According to the Colombian Navy team, which found him, Francois had written “HELP” on the hull of his boat.
