Silent-Yachts of Fano, Italy, just launched the first Silent 62 3-Deck solar electric catamaran. The Silent 62 3-Deck uses an energy storage system composed of liquid-cooled batteries with higher energy density, a greater capacity and faster charging rates.

The Silent 62 3-Deck is equipped with a solar power array that has a peak of 16.8 kWh, twin 340 kW E-motors, a 286 kWh Lithium-ion battery pack, and a range extender that has a peak of 145 kWh. This battery package provides a cruising speed between 6 and 8 knots and what the company says is ocean-crossing range.
The Silent 62 3-Deck follows in the footsteps of her sistership, the Silent 60, but is longer by two feet, with a beam of 29 feet, 5 inches. Instead of a flybridge, she features a third deck that is available in three versions: an open sky lounge, a closed sky lounge, or a closed owner’s suite version. Each layout includes a “front exit” onto the main deck.

“The launch of our first Silent 62 3-Deck is a proud moment as we continue to innovate and expand the Silent range,” said Chief Executive Officer Fabrizio Iarrera.
The Silent 62 features 5 cabins and 6 bathrooms, sleeping up to 12 guests. The first Silent 62 3-Deck will be delivered to its owners in a few weeks.
