Solar power proponents see recreational boating as another area where solar energy could provide some green alternatives.
The solar-powered Solar Star 23 cruise boat from Stardancer Yachts made its debut Sunday with the start of a journey along the 363-mile long Erie Canal, starting in Buffalo, N.Y.

The 23-foot boat, with its revolutionary displacement Trimaran-shaped hull, was designed in New Zealand and manufactured in Arizona.
