Just before 9:30 a.m. (EDT) Friday, Turanor PlanetSolar, the world’s largest solar-powered boat, docked in Monaco and completed a 19-month, 28,618-nautical-mile circumnavigation.
The 102-foot catamaran, which has a flat superstructure covered with 6,000 square feet of photovoltaic panels, has crossed the Atlantic and the Pacific, passed through the Panama and Suez canals and stopped in Miami; Cancún, Mexico; Brisbane, Australia; Singapore; Abu Dhabi and many places in between.
