If you’ve seen the hit movie The Italian Job, you likely haven’t forgotten about the thrilling nautical chase scene where actors Jason Statham and Seth Greene lead Italian authorities on a wild chase through the canals of Venice in a Boston Whaler after a gold heist.
Authorities in Stockholm this week faced a similar scenario when bandits made away with two priceless crowns and an orb used by King Karl IX and Queen Kristina. Once the thieves had possession of the goods, they took to local waterways on a motorboat and eventually slipped out of sight. This video from CBS News has more.
The two thieves are still at large after authorities exhaustively searched by boat and helicopter.
