For Louisiana teenagers Kyle Dupre, Ryan Carroll and Caleb Landry, a fun Saturday trip on the river quickly turned into a matter of life and death.
“We were just going to go fish, go wakeboarding and stuff” said Ryan Carroll.
“We heard a really loud banging sound and some screaming” said Kyle Dupre. “We hurried up, reeled our fishing poles in and went out there.”
Officials say a pontoon boat and a bass boat collided, damaging both vessels and throwing nearly a dozen people in the water. Dupre, Carroll and Landry were the true first responders on the scene.
