Winter weather has arrived, and it now appears highly unlikely that three illegal boats tied up and anchored in the upper Kickemuit River in Rhode Island will be moved before the freeze sets in.
The boats — Bon Moyage, a 74-foot aluminum yacht, Endurance, a smaller wooden yacht, and Reliance, a work boat that towed both of them up the river — were ordered removed earlier this month amidst a flurry of legal activity against Thomas Koolen, the man who brought them to the narrow backwater behind his 1 Libby Lane home.
