True North Yachts will introduce its new 34 Outboard Express to the industry and consumers at the Newport (R.I.) International Boat Show, which opens Thursday.

The Rhode Island builder calls its first outboard-powered boat “a go-anywhere boat that combines the timeless good looks, outstanding all-weather performance, spacious interior and impeccable reputation that all True North boats are known for with the efficiency, speed, maneuverability and shallow draft that twin 250-horsepower outboard motors provide.”

Like all True North Yachts, the concept for the new True North 34 Outboard Express was inspired by the rugged practicality of Down East workboats that have a well-earned reputation for being able to handle even the roughest conditions.

“We’re incredibly excited to unveil this new model in Newport,” vice president of marketing and communications Sarah Fawle said in a statement. “It combines all the elements — even the gorgeous curved reverse transom — that distinguish True North Yachts from other Down East boats, with the ease and efficiency of twin outboard motors. It’s a true go-anywhere boat. And her striking good looks and fire-engine-red hull are sure to turn some heads on the docks.”

Sea trials are available by contacting Fawle at (401) 247-3000 or [email protected].
