Colin Jost and Pete Davidson, two “Saturday Night Live” regulars, both hail from New York City, and they now own a piece of the city’s history. The comedians have purchased the decommissioned John F. Kennedy ferry boat that used to transport them to and from Manhattan, and they plan to turn it into a comedy club restaurant.

The John F. Kennedy has worked the waters between South Ferry and St. George since 1965. When it was listed at auction last week, its condition was described as “poor” due to mechanical issues with the propulsion. Jost and Davidson, as well as comedy club owner Paul Italia, paid $280,000 for the vessel.

Now, the plan is to dock the ferry and do some much-needed work on it. The comedians hope to have the comedy club restaurant open in a year.
