Call it catfishing on the Warrior River in Alabama — or maybe kitten fishing would be more accurate.
In a fish story like no other, two men were out fishing when a couple of kittens swam up to their boat. One of the men said that if it hadn’t been captured on video, nobody would have believed it.
Jason Frost and his friend Brandon Key were out on Saturday morning when they heard a splash and saw something swimming across the water toward them. They weren’t sure what it was until they heard the meows, according to Alabama Today.
The kitten, an orange tabby that looked to be a couple of months old, swam right up to their boat. Frost scooped it up by the nape of the neck and set it aboard.
“Never in my life have I seen anything like that,” he is heard saying.
Then they saw a second kitten jump into the river and start swimming toward them. Key can be heard in the video saying, “There’s another one!”
“Come on, I’m gonna get you,” Frost said, coaxing the second kitten to come closer.
They moved the boat closer, using its trolling motor, and Frost pulled the kitten in.
Check out the video, but be aware that there is a bit of mildly profane language.
“Everybody always has a crazy fishing story, and that’s all it is is a story,” Frost told Alabama Today. “If I wouldn’t have had this on video, everybody would have thought I was crazy.”
