Warner Bros. Pictures has released the final trailer for its big-budget movie about the true story that helped to inspire Herman Melville’s “Moby-Dick.”

“In the Heart of the Sea,” directed by Academy Award winner Ron Howard, will open Dec. 11.

From this clip, it appears to be a can’t-miss thrill ride.

Herman Melville’s 1851 novel created the legend of the great white whale, but Nathaniel Philbrick’s 2000 non-fiction book, “In the Heart of the Sea: The Tragedy of the Whaleship Essex,” is the inspiration for the film.

Chris Hemsworth (“The Avengers,” “Thor: The Dark World”) has the lead role as first mate Owen Chase of the Essex, which is destined for an epic battle with an angry sea mammal bent on revenge when it leaves Nantucket, Mass., in 1820 and heads for the South Pacific.
