The crew of a 99-foot Australian whale-watching tour boat came to the rescue of a 35-foot sailboat that beached after it broke free from its mooring.
The yacht had hit a wharf and other boats after its mooring broke.
Christian Young, whose parents own the boat, was called to Manly Cove, a suburb of northern Sydney, to try to save the family’s prized possession.
“I jumped on the back of the yacht and tried to spin it the other way,” he told The Manly Daily.
But to no avail.
Luckily, the crew of the aluminum fast catamaran Ocean Dreaming II quickly inched into the shallow water, tossed Young a line and towed the boat to deeper water.
