Regardless of your state’s law, there should be a designated spotter when someone is water skiing so the driver can devote full attention to safe boat operation.
We can’t tell for sure whether there’s a spotter in this video, but the driver was certainly paying more attention to what was going on behind the boat than what was ahead.
