As with any vessel, a personal watercraft will only be as safe as the person operating it — or other knuckleheads riding in the vicinity.
This video was filmed during the summer by a young man celebrating his birthday in Nassau, Bahamas. He was taking video of two young women who were photographing each other before going on a PWC ride when he noticed something out of the corner of his eye.

“As I panned to my left, [I] saw this other crazy jet ski guy literally jump her jet ski like a ramp,” he said in a YouTube description of the accident. “She had the craziest instinct to get off of the jet ski at the last second to save her head, literally.”
The couple on the other vessel went flying into the sand after being launched in the air.
Despite the crash, the cameraman said no one was seriously injured.
