For those of you who throw up your hands in horror at the thought of the youth of today, take a look at Britain’s Lauren Harris.
The 22-year-old, from the Portsmouth-based Around and Around sailing charity, will join gold medalists, veterans and charity workers next summer on the torch route to the London Olympics.
Lauren was nominated for her inspirational work with the sailing charity.
She is also in charge of the project to make Sir Alec Rose’s legendary yacht Lively Lady seaworthy again, the sailboat on which she got her first taste of salt on a circumnavigation.
