Massachusetts-based Zurn Yacht Design announced the construction of a Zurn-designed 38-foot twin-waterjet boat.
Production is under way at New England Boatworks, a builder with a history of collaboration with Doug Zurn and his staff. The 38-foot pleasure yacht is an adaptation of New England design, with a low-profile open pilothouse, cockpit and stable hull form.
The Zurn/NEB 38 is designed for fishing and diving, and to quickly get boaters where they are going. The ultra jet drives are powered by twin Volvo Penta D-6 diesel engines, with a combined 870 hp for a 40-knot top speed. It has a choice of wheel or joystick steering.
The hull and deck are built with an epoxy resin-infused, cored composite construction. The boat has a hard-chined, moderate-V planing hull. It also comes equipped with Seakeeper’s new 3DC battery-powered gyrostabilizer.
