“My dinghy’s bigger than your whole boat!”
If you know that line and remember the film it came from, you could be a Caddyshack fan. Rodney Dangerfield as boisterous tycoon Al Czervick in the 1980 comedy throws that barb at Ted Baxter (as Judge Elihu Smails) while he christens a small wooden sailboat, all the while throttling up in his big, shiny powerboat Seafood.
Now that powerboat, a 60-foot Striker built in 1979, is up for sale, and it’s been updated since Dangerfield was at the wheel, or a member of Bushwood Country Club.
Seafood, with a beam of just over 19 feet, has been outfitted with new upholstery and house systems, as well as an updated cockpit and cabins. The accommodations level belowdecks has three staterooms and three heads, with the master boasting a private head and shower. The salon is spacious with a leather settee and TV. Nearby, the galley has a 3-burner cooktop, microwave, refrigerator, ice maker and storage space.
Power is a pair of twin Detroit Diesel 12V71TI engines.
This 60-footer was built by Striker Yacht Corporation of Ft. Lauderdale. The company was founded in 1951 and specializes in steel and aluminum construction.
Seafood is ready for her next adventure, whether it be along the coast or in your local harbor causing a ruckus.
You can see the listing for the boat, which is priced at $349,900, at the United Yacht Sales website.– Lidia Goldberg
