For the third consecutive year the number of vendors registered for the Dania (Fla.) Marine Flea Market has topped 300, organizers said.
The Marine Flea Market, which starts its annual four-day run Thursday at Dania Jai Alai, provides an outlet for marine businesses to sell overstocked and used marine equipment, as well as “scratch and dent” merchandise.
“Regardless of the global economy, there are few marine-related businesses that do not have excess, used or outdated inventory and are anxious to turn that merchandise into cash. This is particularly true today, and every boater, fisherman and diver is searching for bargains on items essential to his or her boating lifestyle,” Dania Marine Flea Market originator Al Behrendt said in a statement.
“Our success over the last 34 years has been bringing these buyers and sellers together in a unique atmosphere of dickering and dealing,” he added.
Participating companies include Brownie’s Marine Group, Crook & Crook, Dusky, DS Hull, Jerry’s Marine Service, MarineMax, Pompanette, Regal, Scandvik, Sea School, Sea Tow, Taco Metals and Tigress.
