Timing is everything, particularly for a photographer who launched his drone to capture some footage of two whales he had heard were swimming close to shore off his home town of Esperance, Western Australia.
His neighbor happened to be nearby on a stand-up paddleboard, and the juxtaposition of man and marine mammal the photographer captured from the air is as majestic a view as you’ll see.
“I don’t think it was dangerous. The whales moved to where he was, and the whole time they were very slow-moving and peaceful,” photographer Jaimen Hudson told Australian Broadcasting Corp. News.
